Technicians clear the ramp as an A-10 Thunderbolt II taxies out of the hot pit after a hasty refuel at Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo. Hot pit refueling is a procedure usually performed in a combat situation to rapidly refuel aircraft while their engines are running to thrust pilots back into the fight. 'Good Changes': Westover embraces improvements in C-5 inspection process

Westover Air Reserve Base's isochronal dock is rapidly becoming the only facility of its kind in the Air Force Reserve Command. Plans are already in the works for the site to become the sole ISO dock in AFRC in less than two years. Presently, the site is slated to service 26 planes by next year, more than double that of any ISO dock in AFRC.

Staff Sgt. John Petrie, 433rd Maintenance Operations Squadron, Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, stops to pick up a piece of debris from the flight line during the 433rd Airlift Wing's Monday morning foreign object debris walk. Everyone from the wing commander to brand-new Airmen participate. The FOD is collected in a bag and properly disposed of so it doesn't get caught up in a jet engine. The wing vice commander, Col.
